I don't have much money now, can I still do charity?

With regard to the understanding of generosity, many people think that only giving money is generosity, and people without wealth seem to be unable to do it. This is a narrow and wrong view.

According to Buddhist scriptures, any form of giving can be alms. When we have money, we can give money, and when we don’t have money, we can give clothes, food, medicine, etc.

It also includes giving ideas to help others solve problems, and giving physical strength to help others carry things. These are all doing charity. Helping others with things outside of the body is called charity, and using one's own wisdom and physical strength to help others is called charity.

So generosity is a very broad concept, and even a good thing to persuade others at a critical moment is generosity.

In addition to Cai Shi, Dharma Shi, and Fearless Shi, the Buddha in the "Miscellaneous Treasures Sutra" also specifically talked about the "seven Shi Shi without money"-seven kinds of alms that can be done without spending money. Although no money was paid, the rewards obtained were very extraordinary, and everyone could do it. What are the seven kinds of generosity?

The Buddha said that there are "seven kinds of actions" that will not damage property and will reap great results.

"An eye-giving: often use good eyes, treat parents, teachers, Shamen, and Brahmans, and not evil eyes, named eye-giving. Sacrificing one's body and accepting one's body will make the eyes pure. In the future, you will gain the eyes of the heaven and the Buddha. It is the first name. Retribution."

We have to look at our parents and teachers with very loving eyes, and look at all sentient beings. If we look at others with this kind of eyes, this is eye-doing. You don't need to spend a penny, you just have to look at any sentient beings with loving eyes, especially your parents and teachers. When you become a Buddha in the future, you can get the eyes of the heavens and the Buddha!

All of us should learn from Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva. We must look at all sentient beings with compassion and love. Don't stare at others or blank others, otherwise we will become blister eyes and white-eyed wolves in the future.

Therefore, "Don't do small things for good, don't do small things for evil", even a small look can bring us completely different results. Maybe before this, everyone really didn't pay attention to your own eyes. From today on, you should pay attention. If you give loving eyes, you will get the eyes of heaven and Buddha in the future. This kind of extraordinary charity must be done. It is really unskilled, so let's practice more in front of the mirror!

"The two names are harmonious and beautiful: To parents, teachers, Shamen, and Brahmins, they don't have evil looks. Sacrifice one's body and receive one's body, and get the right color. In the future, you will become a Buddha, and you will get true gold. It is the second fruit of the name."

The second kind is called Harmony and Joy. That is, when facing others, your expression and complexion should be pleasant, and don't always look unhappy. Your complexion is particularly ugly, and your face is stretched out by the old elders.

Think about how sad this look makes people around you. Do you hope that others will not look good to you in the future? Therefore, you must be gentle, gentle and smiling at all times, so that everyone who sees you will feel comfortable, happy, and at ease, especially when facing your parents and teachers.

That is, even if you are tired or in a bad mood, you have to look cheerful and happy in front of your parents. If we are able to treat everyone with a pleasant face, in the future, we will look good and very beautiful from life to life, and when we become a Buddha in the future, our entire body will be truly golden, as solemn as Shakyamuni Buddha.

So don’t spend money on plastic surgery and beauty treatments in the future. If it’s too late to regret it, let’s give a lot of "beauty and beauty". The beauty effect is super good, and there are absolutely no side effects.

"Three famous words: to parents, teachers, Shamon, and Brahman, speak soft words, not vulgar words. Sacrifice one's body and receive one's own body, one can argue with words, what can be said, be trusted by others. To become a Buddha in the future, one must have four debates. The third result."

Rhetoric means that we should speak softly and tactfully, not swear words, bad words, and pleasant speech, especially when the context is "parents, teachers, Shamen, and Brahmins." If this is possible, there will be good eloquence in the future, and others will be willing to listen to what we say. When you become a Buddha in the future, you will achieve four kinds of eloquence.

If the tone of the speech is very blunt, others will not like to listen, and others will not accept it if it makes sense. Many people suffer from this problem. They are kind and speak the right words, but because the language is not soft enough, others just don't want to listen.

So this third language is to ask us to speak softly and not to speak rough language. Only in this way can others be happy and accept it, and we ourselves will also get the rewards without hindrance of argument.

"Four deeds: from parents, teachers, Shamen, and Brahmins, welcoming worship is a dedication. To sacrifice one's body and receive one's own body, one must straighten one's body, grow up, and respect one's body. In the future, you will become a Buddha and your body will be like Nikuta The tree, the one without peak. It is the fourth fruit."

The fourth is demonstrative act, which is to show respect to others by the "welcome service" of our body. When we see our parents, teachers, and other sentient beings, we must rise to meet him and worship him respectfully.

This is the "get up first" and "sit second" in the "Song Sheng Jing". When we see the teacher and parents come in, we have to stand up quickly, and wait for the teacher and parents to sit down before we can sit down.

One of the meanings of "rising first and then sitting" means "to welcome worship", which is a very important bodily charity. If we can respect others in this way, we will definitely be in good shape and grow taller in the future.

Therefore, if you want your child to grow taller, it’s very simple, let him practice "welcome worship" from an early age, treat everyone with humility and respect, then he will grow upright in the future; on the contrary, the more arrogant and rude, the longer. not tall.

Some people who were very arrogant in their past lives will grow very short in this life. Moreover, "the one who respects others is always respected", we respect others by ourselves, and others will respect us in the future. What's even more remarkable is that when we become Buddhas in the future, we will be able to have a full view of nothing.

"Five Mind Charity: Although the above things provide for, the heart is not kind, and it is not called charity. Kindness and kindness, deep-bearing offering, is the name of heart charity. Sacrificing the body and receiving the body, gaining a clear heart, not being crazy. In the future, you will become a Buddha and get all kinds of things. Wisdom. It is the name of the heart, the fifth fruit."

I talked about the eyes, face, language, and body before, but now I'm going to talk about the heart. The Buddha said that although your eyes and facial expressions look kind and pleasing, and your language and body behave respectfully, if your mind is not kind, it is not a real charity.

When we have a sincere heart of compassion, gratitude, respect, and support in our hearts, the actions we make are regarded as gifts of the heart. When doing anything, you must look at your own heart, whether you are really grateful, respectful, altruistic, or deceiving, vanity, and selfish. If we start from a sincere kindness, it is a kind of extraordinary charity.

With this kind of benevolence, we can "understand the heart and not be crazy" in the future. Idiot is an idiot; madness is a frenzy. Why do some people become idiots and mentally ill? It's all because of the unkindness in the heart before. If we can make offerings with this kind of kindness, we will get all the wisdom of the Buddha in the future, and we will get all the wisdom of the Buddha. All the wisdom of the Buddha also comes from "heart giving", so how important it is to have a kind heart!

"Six bed seats: If you see your parents, teachers, Shamen, and Brahmins, order to sit on the bed seat, or even sit on your own, please make the seat. You will always get the noble Seven Treasures bed seat by sacrificing one's body. , Won the master seat. It is the sixth fruit."

The bed seat is to see the parents and teachers, to prepare a good seat for them, or let their own seats for the parents and teachers to sit. When we are on the bus or in some public places, we see the elders, parents, teachers, and even anyone, and give them a place. This is called bedside practice.

In the future, you will get the noble Qibao bed seat, and you will be able to sit on the lion throne to give lectures after you become a Buddha. This is the result of the bed seat.

"Seven house offerings: ex-parents, teachers, Shamen, Brahmins. In the house, you can sit and lie down, that is, house offerings. Sacrifice one's body and receive one's body, get a natural palace and house. Become a Buddha in the future, get all Zen House. It’s the seventh fruit."

We often provide houses for parents and teachers to use, and provide houses for everyone to use. This is called housing alms.

Many people’s houses are relatively large, or even more than one set. If you can provide convenience for your parents and teachers, invite them to stay. This merit is very great, "sacrifice oneself, get a natural palace and house", there will be more houses in the future. , A better house.

Such actual cases are everywhere around us.

Some people especially like to give their parents a good place to live, some people often invite good knowledge to live in their own homes, and some even give houses to their parents and teachers. Later, they find that these people have more and more houses.

The Buddhist scriptures say: "If you give up one thing, you will be rewarded." What you give today is space and residence. Naturally, you will get more space and residence in the future. So we see that the houses these people live in are getting better and better. The houses that were originally very small were later changed to larger houses, and finally they were replaced by villas. These are the results brought about by our charity house, not only that, but also "in the future, you will become a Buddha and you will get all the Zen houses."

Therefore, if someone feels that the house is not big enough or good enough, then the best way is to treat and invite parents and teachers to come to live in the house. If you don't live, come and sit, and you will get bigger, better, and more houses in the future.

"It's a name seven, although it doesn't damage property, it gets big rewards."

This is the "seven donations without wealth." Our eyes are charitable, our facial expressions are cheerful, our words are soft, and our bodies are respectful to welcome worship. These are all a kind of charity; we are kind in our hearts, giving seats to others, providing accommodation, and providing venues for activities. A kind of generosity. These do not need to spend money, but you can also get great results, and you must do your best.
